Hello, thanks for the detailed USG report.
The findings are suggestive of a
multinodular goitre. Goitre=enlarged
thyroid gland ; multinodular= multiple lumps.
The cystic part suggests liquifaction/colloid.
It usually causes no symptoms other than those arising from a large size- difficulty swallowing, cosmetic appearance etc. Hence, it requires only observation.
At the outset a thyroid function test (
blood test) is required to see if the thyroid functioning is normal/under/overactive, and correcting it.
However if any nodules appear worrisome on the
ultrasound for malignancy, or the goitre is increasing rapidly, a FNAC(needle test)maybe performed to confirm, and if required surgery.
Hence, based on your report, and assuming a normal thyroid functioning, you can do followup ultrasounds and report to your doctor if any symptoms arise. Feel free to discuss with your doctor/sonologist too.
Don't worry, take care.
